brown...

so i died my hair... it's been about a week and a half and i'm still getting used to it. i like it don't get me wrong but it's wayyy different. at first it was like black, so so dark but it's calmed down since then! people seem to like it so that's good haha. it's kind of an adventure and i think it's fun!

sixteen and never been kissed...

so about a week and a half ago i turned sixteen. it's pretty crazy! it's not like it's some huge dramatic change from fifteen to sixteen in your maturity level but at least for me there was a huge dramatic freedom/ responsibility change. i got my license on halloween because i couldn't get it on my birthday and as soon as i had my license i was pretty much out on the road practicing that stick. and a week later i went on my first date. my friend morgan took me on my first date.

we went bowling then to farr's fresh icecream. the first game i bowled a fifty two then the second game i bowled a one hundred and ten! the best score i've probs ever had! we were competing against my cousin mackenzee and ty.

kenzee and ty bowled first and their final score ended up being something like one hundred and eighty two and then i bowled next and i finished with one hundred and ten and morgan only needed to knock down like five pins to win and he knocked down four so we tied! haha it was good because then neither of us got the bragging rights haha. it's been a good couple weeks!

so basically i'm way excited that i'm gonna be sixteen in four days! it's pretty crazy to me and i seriously don't feel like it's here. but it is. right around the corner.
i look back and think how i thought that twelve was so old (only because i was a beehive obviously) and then fourteen was huge (only because i was a miamaid of course) i thought that i'd be like mature and stuff...
i still wish that i wanted the sit cris-cross applesauce. i wish i still got excited and ran to see my dad when he got home from work. i wish i could still have my hair parted down the middle with my moms signature pigtail braids in my hair. i always thought i couldn't wait until i was grown up because i would grow out of my baby fat, but baby fat was cute back then. it's not so much cute when i have fat now. i'll be honest as excited as i am to turn sixteen and flee the house in my truck whenever i want, looking back on my years... kind wish i never grew up...

so allison mae powell has been my best friend since like first grade? who really knows? allison is like what, five feet eight inches of pure gorgeousness. she dances for the academy of ballet and is absolutely crazy!

she has the best sense of humor and we laugh so hard together. she and i have had our rough spots but i think that's what makes us so close. we've been through literally thick and thin together and we can conquer anything together. if i had to be stuck on an island with one person it would be allison;)

so life is going pretty well for me right now. physics is kickin' my butt, but i've come to realize that it's the only thing making me work really hard. my birthday is coming up soon and i am ecstatic! i'll be sixteen finally and i am getting my license on halloween! if it weren't for pre-planning i wouldn't have been able to get my license right away but now i have absolutely everything i need to get my license i just need to be sixteen! my only brother joshua is coming home in three months and twelve days from this very day! my sister hailey is all grown up and wearing heals now. she's going to byu and living down there too, she's loving it. baby emma rae is starting to walk now and becoming more of a trouble maker! dad and paula are still same old same old. just the rockin' parents everyone wishes they had! so i would say, all in all everything's going great!

so i once again tore my acl. this one is not the same knee but it will be the same surgery. i am actually quite distraught about it... i'm just about sick of being told no. i can't help but feel like everything in the world is conspiring against me. the world does not want me to play sports and i feel like this is THEE harshest way to say that i can't play anymore. i know that heavenly father won't ever give me something that i can't handle but i just feel a little picked on... oh well. surgery on tuesday and we will see how it goes.

so school started and i guess it's pretty fun... haha i love it!! i seriously love orem high school and i'm having the greatest time! so many new faces and friends to make! everyone is so nice and it's an awesome atmosphere around that place! sophomores, jr.'s and seniors! it seams like everyone wants to be friends with everyone and it really makes me so happy! so my papa {jim hamblin} used to be the head coach for the east high school football team {yes troy boltons east high school:)} and tonight we are playing them in our first home varsity game! it's so exciting because i actually know people on the team now! you may say i'm just a squishmore but i've got "tiger pride... HOO-RAW!"

so i'm a tiger! officially registered and all that great stuff. i was looking over my schedule and a days are going to bite! i think i'm going to like my next three years a lot though! it isn't easy changing things when you have no clue weather your going to like it or not but the idea behind it all is that it always gets better! good ol' canyon view or new and improved orem high? i think we all know whats about to get better!

so pretty much as the summer wears down things start to change. i don't do change very well and obviously i have to deal with it. it's scary to think that all the little things, words and moments that happen now with the people i have will be completely different in a few short weeks. high school. my sister leaving to college. my brother receiving his release date. emma turning one. life is coming so fast and it's freaking me out. i like things how they are now. change, scares me.

pioneer day weekend...

this weekend we got to go surprise hailey up in wyoming! it was an absolute blast being able to see my big sister again. she's doing well and it was awesome to be able to talk to her and hang out with her! we had emma sit in the middle of grandmas kitchen and she walked in and saw her and said "my family is here?!" it was quite exciting! she's coming home next week and i'm absolutely stoked to be able to have her home! but not soon afterwards she's leaving for college, i guess i'll just have to get used to her being away from home...

hailey kate hamblin is my older sister, my role model and my greatest example. haileys final ohs terms grades were flawless. hailey is the most fun-loving, high spirited person i've ever met. we have our fights but all in all she is the best big sister i could ever ask for.

not only does hailey have her priorities strait, a strong testimony and amazing will power but hailey is beautiful. she helps me through so much and i wouldn't be who i am without her. she's my best friend

so yesterday i got my wisdom teeth out and my face now looks like a fat superman... oh well! yesterday my friends came to say hi and hang out with me. james brought me a coloring book and jaxon got me a frosty, what nice guys right? so anyways i'm pretty sore and like i said, my face is a cross between a chipmunk and superman... so here you go!

true followers...

So these last few weeks have been super busy! i've been down to Dixie, up to Heber and than to Bridger Valley Wyoming leaving two days or less of each other. Girls Camp always the best right? So our ward theme was being True Followers of Christ and it was almost like it was reveled to me that my mother was possibly the most "True" woman i've ever known. Eight months pregnant and my mom is about to have her fourth baby, Abigail. Her doctor told her that Abi was healthy enough to have early but my momma wanted to make sure so she waited for a month. Little did any of us know our little Abi's fate. i was too young to remember much of what happened that day but Abi did not join our family here on earth. In an eternal perspective we are all A Forever Family but in the moment of this it was devastating for our family. Like i mentioned before, i was about five or six at the time and don't remember a whole lot. But i remember my mother never failing in her testimony of the Gospel. We all could have easily questioned Heavenly Father as to why this had to happen to our baby and easily could have questioned the Gospel but we had such strong parents. A mother who knew her testimony and had her entire soul believing in the things of our church. And a father that held the priesthood with amazing class and honor. My mother never fell away, even in the times that were the hardest for all of us to understand. i believe that Heavenly Father was preparing me and my siblings for the time when we would lose our mother. i didn't realize it but my mom was the biggest example to me on how to survive hard things. She never once thought twice about everything happening because Heavenly Father just wanted it to. We all have a divine mission here on earth. One may be serving as the daughter of parents who don't believe in the Gospel. One is be serving as the daughter of Shannon and James Hamblin and to grow up having the gospel in their lives with a strong testimony. We've received our mission call and i'll do what i can the fulfill with my whole heart that mission call. My mothers has been fulfilled and she is a forever standing testimony in my heart of being a True follower of Christ.

dixie here we come...

So tomorrow the OHS basketball girls are going to Dixie for a tournament! It will be stinkin' fun!! I haven't played a whole lot of basketball for a while but I'm so excited to be able to play with the high school girls! Yesterday was a stake dance and it was really fun! Except I got super sunburnt and it was pretty hard to lift my arms up... Saren and Ian told me that I need to write my deep thoughts about things but I have no clue what to write my deep thoughts about so, if you have any ideas please let me know!

So I don't know how I feel about this whole drivers education business... It goes from 10 to 6 and all we do is packets and ranging. It's super stressful and I hate it. I have to miss soccer camp because of it and all I want to do is play soccer! I'm sick of not being able to show Orem High soccer what I am all about just because of DUMB drivers ed. Well tomorrow is the last day so I'm so freaking happy! The alumni game is tomorrow which should be super fun! Well I'm off to bed!

drivers ed...

So I have drivers ed all week this week from 10 to 6... Oof. Longer than school! Plus before drivers ed I go to soccer camp for an hour, hopefully we can just start the fun stuff for keepers earlier haha! This summer is so booked! I have like 2 weeks where I don't have anything planned... I better get in shape from all the things I have going on! And when I'm not doing camps I have work to do at home. Hopefully I can still use my 7 peaks pass still... Saturdays!

Party!

Okay biggest party of the year?! Yes! It was so much fun! Okay so Michael Santigo, Jaxon Deucher and Sydnee Peterson threw an end of the year party at Vivent. So Sydnees dad owns the business and they have a lot of money so they threw this party together and it was possibly the coolest thing ever! Kenzee was down for the night and she came too. They had a bouncy house and a huge blow-up slide, they had materials for J Dogs, Brick Oven Pizza, Caramel Apples, Cup Cakes, pretty sure there was a popcorn machine somewhere, theater, full court basketball court and PHOTO BOOTH!! You could get free photos and they had props you could put on! So we were in the gym just playing around then Todd decides to have the girls and boys do a round of Speed for 100 dollars! So I obviously want to be in on that. So I hop in and it gets going, probably takes 8 minutes just to shoot and get back in line if you are still in. So it gets closer and closer to the end and Katie Hend is out which was so weird because she's so good, and Jamaica is out too!! So it comes down to me and Sara Riding! We took a little breather and then started up again! She shot, missed. I shot, missed. Then she missed her first lay-up and I made mine!! I got her out and won 100 DOLLARS!!! People started swarming me and hugging me and it was insane! James basically tackled me and all Cade could say was "PAIGE YOU ARE SUCH A STUD!" All in all, a way fun night!!

Goll was today fun! Not!! Well it was alright but it's yearbook day so the yearbooks are really cool but you go to every class to have everyone sign it but it takes freakin' forever! We left early and the day is still not over, it's only 1:20 and school gets out at 2:15! I have no desire to go back to that school. So many people wanted to write in my yearbook, I am so popular! I even got voted most popular, kill me now! James took up a whole entire page on my yearbook, because my name is Paige he had to write an entire page! What a nerd!

memorial day...

Yesterday I, yes I, drove up to Wyoming to visit family! The day started out with dinner at Grandma Lynns plus FHE about tithing. Then Hailey, Kenzee and I started watching a season of 24, bad idea. We obviously got way too obsessed with it and of course couldn't finish all 24 episodes in one day... Lyndee and I played the coin game. Classic... And Lyndee drew me! It was fun! Next morning wake up and go downstairs to get breakfast and of course there is about one oven pancake left and I have to reheat it. So I put it in the microwave and the power goes out. My grandmas basement started flooding and the men helped clean it up. Then we went to visit Mom, Abigail, Grandpa Jess and Grandpa Lu's graves. Gotta love gosh darn windy Wyoming right? Then we hit the road for home and we sang Wicked the whole way!

Party!

So tonight we're having a Student Council party at my house! I'm so excited because we are going to play Jeopardy, have a fire, hot tub and watch a projected movie! My dad is going to grill hot dogs for us so it's going to be a blast! Today I literally had a party in every class. Not one single class did I have any work! In Spanish we watched Little Mermaid, in geometry we ate food and we played games, in biology we played wii and I set up a legit tournament and Mason won and in Footnotes we went outside and played world cup and I jammed my finger... it's alright because it doesn't hurt that much anymore!

Yeah, I had to give a speech today at ninth grade honors night and I was so nervous! I hope it was good... I'll put it up later, maybe. I am going to cry on the last day of school, so hard I will cry. We had our banquet thing I guess and it was so fun! Mrs. Larsen does the Daunie Awards where she wraps barbies in tin foil and they were so awesome! I love Mrs. Larsen and I am so sad Student Council is going to be over.:( Well this is kind of depressing...

So this is like the last really week of school! Tomorrow I speak at ninth grade honors night and I'm a little nervous, okay not really. I already wrote my speech and I just have to read it! But before honors night student council is going to brick oven or something like that and we are having a little banquet! We give each other awards and stuff so that'll be so fun!! I'm trying to make a Jeopardy game together so that we can have a Jeopardy night! How fun would that be? So I'm trying really hard to do it before school is out! I decided I'm going to make cookies for my Sunday school teacher because every time I have said I would I didn't... Oops. So I think I'll go do that!

Yet another great weekend

So, this weekend was way fun! Just pretty standard, hanging out with friends. On Friday after school Jaxon, James and I tried to go play basketball at the church but some ladies were sewing in the gym... so we hung out at Jaxons for a while then I went to Sarahs and we took pictures I'll put some pictures up later haha. Then Sarah grilled some hot dogs for us, they were good. Then we put on red lipstick and black paint under our eyes and tried to doorbell ditch stuff at Sabrinas, but it didn't work... then later that night Hailey took Josie and me to Wendys and we got one dollar frosties! Easily the best dollar I've ever spent haha. Then Saturday I went running and then I went and saw a movie with Sarah, Josie and Kate. Then we came to my house because I had to babysit then while Dad and Paula went to a play. Jaxon, Cade, James and Quinton, well I think that's who was there, well they wanted to borrow my Halo game so they dressed up as animals and had this extraordinary plan, it was quite entertaining. Then Allison and I had a great talk and I love her. So yeah that was my weekend.

Soccer!

So today we had our final game of the season. Kinda sad but we ended it pretty dang good! So half time it's zero zero, anyones game! Our team is a second half team for sure! So we play for probably about ten minutes and I believe it was Ashley that scored and it was beautiful! Then only like five or six minutes later we get an amazing cross and it bounces around a little and comes to the back post where Jenna just nails it in! So by this point we're up two zero then later they get a free kick outside the box and well one thing led to another and they scored. I was so mad because I should have gotten it, oh well. But then it gets exciting!! We've got like one minute left and they get a really good ball and the girl had already totally beaten our defense and they were so ahead it was just one on one with me and she took a good hard shot and I knew I wasn't going to be able to stop it so I just dive so far left and mid-air punch the ball out of bounds! It was such a satisfying save! Great season everyone, I love you all so much!

So I took my English CRT today and I love this feeling! Testing is completely over!! Now what are we going to do? Well, I also had my soccer game today. We dominated. A team should not be in division two when we're beating teams 11 to nothing. Especially when the keeper touches it 7 times in one game! I hate those games, I mean don't get me wrong I love winning but you kind of feel bad for the other team and plus I never do anything! And as soon as the other teams parents start making snotty comments it just all goes down-hill from there. Oh well, "scoreboard" is all I have to say to them.

What a weekend!

So this weekend was maybe the best ever! It was so fun! So on Friday my family left for Idaho and I headed off to the Bodines! Kristen, Lindsey and I went to "Soul Surfer" and I loved it! Then we went to the mall and ate dinner. Some weirdo looking guy slapped Lindsey on the bum... Kind of hilarious! Then we went around the mall shadowing people and laughing so hard! Then we drove around for a little while with the radio blasting! Did you know that it isn't illegal to drive around a round-a-bout 8 times? Well we did that and I saw my friends Drake, Alex and Franco on the mini golfing course. Every time we made our round we were laughing so hard, not realizing that the car was screaming at us the entire time! Then we went and put on some spy gear. Well if you consider black clothes and lendsless glasses spy gear. And we tried to go and find someone to creep on but... all the kids are inside these days. So we were passing the Deuchers and some of my friends were out there and Kristen and Lindsey met them, loved them of course. Then we went and stopped by the Wadsworths, hoping they would be outside so we could creep on them but of course they weren't. So my other friends that were there came out and said hi! James, Marilyn, Saren and Emily soaked Cade in the sprinkler. Then we went and spied on Kristen and Lindseys friends. It took us a long time to army crawl across that foothill field... especially dodging the sprinklers and hoping we weren't crawling through dog poop. We stayed and spied but it didn't really effect in anything real cool. So then we went home and kristen and I were pooped from our day so we started "When in Rome" and maybe we got to the first five minutes but who knows. The next morning I had to wake up at 6:30 and head over to the school! Music in the Parks was coming!! We all loaded on the buses and took off! We got to some High School I can't remember the name of and we sang, we also listened to the bands and orchestra. They did great. I felt so good about our performance because we had worked so so hard to get everything so perfect and I believe we did great! Later we got to the park and went our separate ways off in the amusement park. We were having a great time! Then it was time for the award ceremony and guess what? WE WON FIRST IN OUR DIVISION AND OVERALL CHOIR!!! We were so happy and all of the bands and Orchestra did the same thing!! We took home 8 trophies from our school! Plus we had two honorary mentions. One for Amaya who did amazing at the Sax and John our pianist!! We were all pretty stoked the rest of the day!

Ugh...

So I don't know what to tell a person when their girlfriend breaks up with them and they say "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" when in actuality he's the one being a COMPLETE jerk. He will NEVER take responsibility for himself ever, even when he knows he's the one in the wrong. He doesn't treat her right and he has the stomach to tell ME that I broke them up? Whatever I hate teenagers.

I feel... Wicked.

So this is my dilemma... My family has been planning a trip to go to Idaho to see Wicked the broadway musical which I saw last summer in San Francisco. We'd get to go to Murtaugh where I grew up for like four years, go see all these places that I don't remember, stuff like that. So SUPER fun right? Well due to my poor planning on my part we didn't realize that Wicked AND Music in the Parks (Choir competition) were on the same weekend. So, I could go to Wicked and do all that fun stuff or I stay home and go sing and possibly get a trophy and go to Lagoon ALL day with basically half the school. I prayed about it, and thought about it a lot and my Father came to the conclusion that I am going to Music in the Parks. Thanks Dad for making a way rough decision for me. Obviously I would have so much fun either way but it was hard to choose for to make everyone happy. Well I hope it'll be alright and I'm sure I'll be happy going to Lagoon.

Elder Hamblin

We got to talk to Josh today! He's doing so great and he is possibly the best Missionary ever! Apparently I have changed a ton since he saw me last... Who would have known? It's getting colder and colder every day down in Coyhaquie Chile! He hasn't seen any Penguins yet though. Well anyways that's pretty much what's new in the Hamblin house.

Biology is the worst.

Took half the science CRT test today. Yeah rough, rough day. I just want to get it over with and dissect a shark.
